VETERINARY TECHNICIAN (LVT)

Qualifications:

- Possess 1-2 years of clinical experience in small animal veterinary clinics.

- Demonstrate compassion, care, the ability to work well with others, and be self-motivated.

- Willingness to be cross-trained in the front desk responsibilities and in clinical duties of the clinic. 

- Ability to multitask while listening to music and enjoying the daily caseload while providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. 

Responsibilities:

-Support our veterinarian to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients

- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs

- Provide hands-on care by facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests

- Support services including admitting and discharging patients

- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow

- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians

- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments

- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts

- Experience with specialized equipment care and use, and a willingness to learn new skills

- Perform technical work, triage, ICU nursing, assist with surgery and procedures, with some reception work when needed

REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Urgent Care Pet Clinic is a new clinic which bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, providing after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees and long wait time. Our hospital caters to common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. We offer surgery and stabilization of critical cases and have digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment, surgery suite and in-house ultrasound.

- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).

Responsibilities:

- Provide impromptu jokes and laughter.

- Care about clients' feelings.

- Move with speed while maintaining awareness of surroundings.

- Proficiency with expected skill set.

- Restraint of patients for exams, sample collection, ultrasound, radiology, etc.

- Obtain samples for laboratory testing.

- Perform IV catheter placement, anesthesia administration, intubating, assisting in surgery, performing dental cleanings, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery.

- Conduct laboratory procedures including blood chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, cytology, and snap tests.

- Provide patient care for hospitalized and critically ill patients including monitoring vital signs and administering medications/fluids.

- Educate clients on nutrition, pet care, vaccination protocols, and preventatives.

- Set up and perform radiographs.

Job Description:

Urgent Care Pet Clinic is seeking smiling, compassionate, and committed registered technicians for our busy animal hospital. We prioritize creating a fun community within our clinic among staff, clients, and patients. Our small animal practice fosters an environment of loyalty, respect, and fun while offering a range of services including emergency veterinary care, stabilization, hospitalization, and surgery. We embrace hands free practices and utilize digital x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx lab stations, and AviMark computer software.

Ideal Candidate:

- Dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

- People-oriented and enjoys working with junior staff.

- Physically capable of moderate lifting and performing various tasks throughout the workday.

- Willing to work full-time.

Schedule:

- Weekdays: Approximately 35 hours per week. Monday to Saturday 5PM to 11PM

- Able to give one day off a week if needed.

Experience:

- 2 years of relevant experience preferred

- Salary negotiable based on experience
